The Show Will Go On!

Hi All Diary comments have been very scarce. Probably due to the fact that the 'Writing Team' have become the 'Very Tired Team'. These last couple of weeks have been very very stessful... and it is not over yet. With so much organisation to do and rehearsals on top on that there has not been a spare moment to write about the craic. As we are sure you may have noticed our usual bright and bubbly selves have taken a bit of a dent over the past couple of weeks. As you know, lack of ticket sales has been the biggest factor. Monday was a critical day when it was discussed at Committe whether the Show should go ahead or not. Don't be discouraged... The 'Very Tired' Team will ensure (by whatever means) that the Show goes ahead. It has been very encouraging in the last few days to see the Commitment of the cast in either trying to sell tickets for the Show or generate publicity... Special mention so far has to go to... Big Drew... for his lone Opera House campaign and his tenacity with Gerry Anderson Jen.. for her Hugo Duncan text Gareth.. for his Water Aid email to 1500 in the Civil Service Ande Gray.. for forwarding on the 'Calamity Reminder' (He was the only one to do that) Wilson.. for his New Lyric speech David McWilliams... for block booking 50 tickets for Thursday night MJ.. for his fantastic support on U105 The Bangor Girls.. for volunteering to go round Bangor this weekend in costume to give out flyers David and Jen... for taking the time to go to Stranmillis to try and get some sales. David and Heather for participating in the 'MJ' interview on U105.. and David for bringing a Poster that they can put on their notice board!!! Andy.. for his 'Please Help' campaign Helen for her.. here are some bookings and I am trying hard for more Mary M... for contacting her whole address book and also text friends Mr P... for overloading his email server which meant he could not send another email for 24 hours. Not a good idea when he relies on it for work! We are so grateful to all of the above. If we have missed anybody.... And you think they deserve a special mention then please let us know... The Awards Committee will be presenting a special 'Above and Beyond the Call of Duty' Award at the Awards Ceremony. So please.. get your nominations in now!... and keep selling!!! In the meantime... Best Regards The 'Very Tired' Team Ulster Operatic Company

As mentioned by the 'very tired' Writing Team - a new special award has been introduced!! However.................

Contary to Awards Committee procedures,

The winner of this award WILL NOT be decided by the panel.

Your nominations will decide who wins this award - only rule is you can't nominate yourself!!

We're looking forward to seeing a close run race and lots of nominees and a well deserved winner!!

Regards

The Awards Committee

Hi everybody!

Karen - wish I could help you girls out at the weekend but I'm doing a singing workshop. Dont worry I'll be advertising to everyone there though!

I think me & Rebecca deserve a mention on that list for running up & down the Lisburn road in our break on Monday night & leaving flyers in all the fast food places.

I've been emailing & texting round & I think I should get at least another 7 tickets. Keep up the good work everybody!
